Quick Ping Monitor is an easy-to-use network monitoring tool that can be used to check your network's connectivity or your internet connection.

The program uses the Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) to send packets over the network to a target host and waits for an ICMP response; if the host is unreached, an alert is automatically generated. So you need to be sure that your firewall hasn't blocked the ICMP service to use this program. To operate the program you have to add the hosts or IP addresses that you want to monitor and start the service. The program will be sending packets to the hosts and will be reporting the events generated. You can setup the ping time intervals, timeouts, notify when the host is up/down, or when the TTL has changed. The size of the packets used by default to send to the hosts is 12 bytes, but you can modify this parameter. You can add a single IP by typing the IP address or its host name, e.g. 192.168.10.1, www.google.com, or you can add an IP range by typing their first and last IP addresses, e.g. 10.1.1.4 to 10.1.1.254. There are different ways to generate an alert notification: by mail with a SMTP server, by running a external .exe application, with a pop-up message box, or with a sound. A Log file can be also generated to keep track of all the events.
